Yes. 316L is one of the stainless steel grades suitable for our CNC machining services.
316L is commonly selected for applications requiring good corrosion resistance and compatibility with demanding environments. However, it is more difficult to machine than many aluminum alloys because of its toughness, work-hardening characteristics and thermal behavior during cutting.
When machining 316L, tool selection, cutting parameters, workholding, coolant management and tool condition can all affect dimensional stability and surface finish.
For precision 316L components, we recommend identifying critical dimensions, threads, holes, surface roughness and surface treatment requirements clearly on the drawing so that the manufacturing and inspection processes can be planned accordingly.
